Modules
01Everyday Routines
A routine is the scaffolding of a day. It is not about rigid timetables — it is about having a small number of reliable anchors that hold the rest of the day in place, so that less energy goes into deciding what to do next and more goes into actually doing it.
02Personal Care and Hygiene
Personal care is one of the most private parts of daily life, and one of the first to slip when energy, mood or memory are stretched. This module is not about standards or judgement. It is about making self-care easier to remember, easier to start and easier to finish — on ordinary days and on hard ones.
03Home Living Skills
A home does not need to be spotless to be safe and comfortable. It needs a few things kept under control: clear walkways, working smoke alarms, food that is stored safely, and a small cleaning rhythm so that jobs never build into something too big to face.
04Food and Nutrition
Eating well does not require cooking skill, expensive food or a lot of energy. It requires a handful of reliable, simple meals you can make almost without thinking, a small shopping habit, and regular meal times that hold the day together.
05Sleep and Rest
Sleep and mood travel together. Poor sleep makes everything harder — concentration, patience, energy, appetite — and a hard day makes sleep worse. The good news is that sleep responds well to a few consistent habits, and improvements build over weeks rather than overnight.
06Safety and Risk Awareness
Safety is a skill, not a personality trait. It means recognising a risk, remembering what to do, and acting — including knowing when to stop and ask for help. This module covers the three places most everyday risk shows up: at home, in the community and online.
07Community Participation
Being part of a community is good for health — it is as simple and as important as that. Regular contact with other people, a reason to leave the house, and an activity that has some meaning are among the strongest protectors of wellbeing we know of. This module is about finding a way in that fits you.
08Putting It All Together
You have looked at routines, personal care, home, food, sleep, safety and community. This final module brings them together into one simple personal plan — and, just as importantly, a plan for keeping it going when life gets in the way.
Who it’s for
This course is for anyone who wants everyday life to feel more organised, safer and more their own — including people living with psychosocial disability, people rebuilding routines after illness or a difficult period, and the families, carers and support workers who walk alongside them. No prior learning is needed, and you can go at your own pace.

Questions
Do I need to complete the modules in order?
The modules build on each other, so we suggest going in order the first time. After that, you can revisit any module whenever it is useful.
Can a support person do the course with me?
Yes. Many people work through the modules with a family member, carer or support worker. Several modules include activities you can do together.
Is there an assessment?
There is no test. Each module ends with a short practical activity, and you can record your practice in the Practice & Progress Record. A certificate of participation is available when all modules are complete.
Does completing the course mean I am independent?
No. The course teaches skills; independence is shown by what you can safely and consistently do in real life, with the support you actually need recorded honestly. That is why we pair learning with the Resources & Learning Hub tools.
