Tool 06
When I Need Help
Know who to ask, how to ask, and what to say — for the everyday situations where asking for help is the right next step.
Asking for help is a skill, and a safety skill. This tool plans ahead for five common situations: being unsure what to do, noticing a health or function change, not feeling safe, not being able to complete your usual routine, and needing professional review.
For each, you record who you can ask, how you can ask, and what information you need to give. You can also write your own preferred words for asking for help, so they are ready when you need them.
If there is immediate danger in Australia, call 000.
