Step-by-Step Task Card
Break a task or routine into clear steps, with the cue or prompt for each one, a safety check, and a clear stop / help rule.
Many everyday tasks are hard not because any single step is difficult, but because the steps have to happen in the right order. A task card lays out up to eight steps, each with the cue or prompt that helps if needed and a safety check.
It also records how you know the task is finished, and a stop / help rule — the point at which you pause and ask for help rather than push on.
Task cards are used in kitchens, on transport, at home and in the community, and can be shared with support people so everyone uses the same words and steps.
